State of ports address talks big business

Georgia Ports Authority's Executive Director Doug J. Marchand will deliver the annual state of the port address on Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. He will speak about the latest developments in Savannah's maritime transportation industry and what the future holds for the Port of Savannah.
The State of the Port Address is hosted by the Propeller Club of the United States, Port of Savannah and the Georgia Ports Authority.
Georgia's deepwater ports and inland barge terminals support more than 286,476 jobs throughout the state annually and contribute $14.9 billion in income, $55.8 billion in revenue and $2.8 billion in taxes to Georgia's economy, according to the authority.
Tickets for the luncheon are $40. Registration begins at 11:30 with the luncheon commencing at noon. The deadline for reservations is today. To make reservations, call 912-964-3885. Tables of 10 are available.
