The Walmart Super Center on Highway 84 in Hinesville briefly was shut down and its customers and employees were evacuated Wednesday because of a small electrical fire.
Fire marshal Capt. Rick Perryman of the Hinesville Fire Department said the fire apparently began in an electric floor outlet.
Perryman said the fire quickly was isolated and a circuit breaker was shut off in the store’s electrical panel box.
Station 1 was on the scene by 12:10 p.m. and the store reopened within about 30 minutes, the Walmart office staff confirmed.
