Coastal Health District Free HIV testing

In observance of National HIV Testing Day, the Coastal Health District will hold a drive-through testing event from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 27th, in the parking lot of the Chatham County Health Department at 1395 Eisenhower Drive. Results will be available in one minute. A follow-up visit will be scheduled for anyone who tests positive and counseling will be made available to those individuals.

As a reminder, HIV testing is free by appointment at all health departments in Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, and McIntosh counties and available Monday through Friday during regular health department hours of operation.

First Baptist Church of Ludowici will have a fireworks show at 8:30 p.m. at the church located at 705 N. MacDonald Street, Highway 301 North.

 

Fort Stewart Independence Day Celebration

Join us for an Independence Day Celebration unlike any other, the social distancing edition!

First we'll rock out to the 3ID Rock Band starting at 2030. Then when it gets dark enough, at around 2130, we'll top the night off with a fireworks display.

There will be two options for viewing the fireworks display:

Off of E. 9th Street, remain in your vehicles for the duration of the show.

Enter Donovan Field off of Harmon Ave. A 20'x25' space will be provided to each vehicle where participants can park, and utilize lawn chairs or blankets within their designated space, to view enjoy the band and view the fireworks. Spaces available on a first come, first serve basis. 

Things to leave at home:  Pets, grills, glass bottles, weapons.

10x10 pop up tents permitted, but no staking anything into the ground.

We invite audience members to tune their car radios to 90.1 for the fireworks background music.  

*Event is open to authorized DOD ID card holders.

22nd annual Back to school Rally hosted by Project Reach G.A.N.G

The 22nd Annual Back to School Rally hosted by Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc.  G.A.N.G. God’s Anointed Now Generation will be held at a new location and format this year. The rally will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020, 10:00 a.m. at Midway Middle School.  The rally will be Live Streaming and a Resource and Supply Drive Thru.  Free school supplies, health checks, entertainment, refreshments, and much more.  Last year attendance was estimated at 1000 plus.  We are expecting a greater turn out for rally 2020.

This is a fantastic opportunity to inform Liberty County and surrounding areas about your business or organization, along with giving back to our communities and preparing our students for the upcoming school years. The theme for this year is “Focusing on the Now! Preparing for the Future”.  Setup time is on Saturday morning from 8a.m. until 9:15 a.m. the day of the event.  There will be a brief live stream program with community leaders.  The drive will start at 10a.m. We will follow the guidelines of the CDC: Social distancing, wearing mask, gloves, and the constant use of hand sanitizers.  Contact Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc. for a free booth space. You will need a table, folding chair, and popup tent (optional).  June 29, 2020 is the deadline to register.

Please note families will remain in their vehicles and we the collaborative partners will pass out the resources to the number of students in each vehicle.  Vendors are asked to pre-package their giveaways.

Liberty County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce 15th Annual Golf Classic, which was originally planned for Friday, May 29th has been rescheduled to Sept. 25. The tournament will take place at Cherokee Rose.
