The calendar has turned to spring and to the first food truck festival of the year.

Downtown Hinesville will be home to the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce’s sixth annual bi-annual Food Truck Festival on Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. More than 30 food trucks are expected to be in attendance and there also will be live music, bounce houses for the kids and a beer garden for the adults.

Strollers, blankets and chairs are allowed but outside coolers are prohibited and outside food and beverages also are not permitted. While some vendors are cash only, there are nearby ATMs. The event is pet-friendly but those with pets are reminded to have leases and doggie bags for clean up.

Some downtown streets will be closed off during the event, such as Midway, Commerce and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Much of Main Street downtown also will be closed to traffic during the event.

The Chamber also is holding an event and food truck permitting workshop on March 26 from 3-5 p.m. at Ameris Bank, 101 W. Hendry Street. Organizers will go over what it takes to get permits with officials from the City Of Hinesville, Hinesville Downtown Development Authority, Liberty County Health Department and the Hinesville Fire Department.

Call the Chamber at (912) 368-4445 for more information.
