The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the COP Event Center on Friday, May 10 at their location 406 A South Main Street, Hinesville.

Jimmy Shanken, immediate past chairman of the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce Board, welcomed those in attendance and congratulated Bishop Kevin Betton on his new venture in downtown Hinesville.

“It is an exciting day here in Hinesville, as an event center is long overdue. You guys have done a great job with the space, and I think there will be a lot of organizations interested in using what you have created,” he

said. Bishop Betton thanked his wife, their team members, and those in attendance and briefly explained how the event center had come to be.

“This building used to be the old Poole’s Deli, and I enjoyed eating here. Now we have turned this space into an event center, and it gives us the opportunity to share part of our church’s vision of what we want to do here in Hinesville,” he said.
