Citizens and Elected Officials Gather at Tybee Island Pier to Oppose Offshore Drilling
stop drilling

TYBEE ISLAND, GA. On Saturday, May 21, community members and local elected officials will gather on Tybee Island Pier for the 12th annual Hands Across the Sand event. Participants will hear from elected officials in a press conference and then form a line in the sand, demonstrating opposition to offshore drilling and support for clean, renewable energy.

The press conference will start at 11:00 a.m. and will feature comments from Tybee Mayor Shirley Session, Hermina Glass-Hill of Oceana, and Kathryn Williams of North Beach Bar & Grill.  Other local and statewide elected officials have been invited.
