City asked to cut unit reimbursement request

Hinesville City Mayor Jim Thomas informed city council members Thursday that the Department of Defense’s Office of Economic  Adjustment has asked the city to reduce its $26,554,616 reimbursement request for fifth brigade remediation funds. Thomas broke the news during the city’s annual planning workshop at St. Simons Island.
