State Laymen to Meet In Savannah

Laymen from across the state of Georgia will convene in Savannah on March 6-7 for the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia Southern Region Conference. The conference will be held at Conner’s Temple Missionary Baptist Church which is located at 509 West Gwinnett Street in Savannah. The theme of the conference is “Proclaiming the Changeless Christ in a Changing World.”

Workshop presenters include Rev. Dr. Richard Hall, pastor of Second Arnold Baptist Church in Savannah; Rev. Dr.  Sinclair Thorne, pastor of First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Hinesville; and Minister Joice Tinsley of Villa Rica, GA. Rev. Ananias Hopkins, the Southern Region Vice President, will deliver the Evangelistic Message. Registration for the conference will begin at 6 p.m. on March 6. There will be a youth program from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. where youth will present an oratorical on the Baptist Articles of Faith. Workshops will be held from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. On March 7, registration begins at 8 a.m. and the workshops start at 8:30 a.m. Registration for the conference is $20 for adults and $5 for youth. There will also be a workshop for women entitled Biblical Women: Are We Minding God’s Business. The conference is open to the public and men, women and youth are invited to attend. The Hinesville Market at Bradwell Park season kicks off the 11th season of Market shopping on Thursday, March 19, 2020 in downtown Hinesville from 4 – 7p.m. Vendor booth prices will remain unchanged for the 2020 season. The fee schedule for booths is as follows: 

General Vendors (Farmers and Artisans): Early Bird Rate until April 2 for full season – $240 

Standard Rate for full season after April 2 – $340 

Monthly Rate – $60 

Single-Market Rate (Weekly) – $20 weekly 

Prepared Food Vendors: Early Bird Rate until April 2 for full season – $340 Standard Rate for full season after April 2 – $510 

Monthly Rate – $90 

Single-Market Rate (Weekly) – $30 weekly.

Midway Museum to host Night at the Midway Museum

Midway Museum will host its popular annual “Night at the Midway Museum” on Saturday, March 21st, 6-8 p.m.

Sip a selection of wines poured by Darien Waterfront Wine and Gourmet with your hors d’oeuvres. Meet others interested in Midway’s remarkable history, and stroll the Museum visiting the costumed guides who will ‘come to life’ in each room to tell you about the period furnishings and artifacts, as well as the Midway personalities who have contributed so much to American history. The bookshop will be open with a unique selection of hard-to-find Liberty County history books.
