Aug. 15

The LightsOut Empowerment: Social Justice Juncture will serve as a platform for city officials to voice the issues that systematically and disproportionally impact black and underserved communities. Additionally, this event will allow selected students to showcase their views and opinions through poetry or spoken word to encourage our community. Unfortunately, many citizens of various ethnicities would love to lend their support toward social justice but are unaware of the methods they can take. As a result, all those in attendance will receive information on how to aid in combating these issues. Lastly, this is an opportunity for police agencies in Liberty County to fortify its citizens with a message of unity, solidarity, and protection.

The event will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on South Commerce Street in Hinesville. T-shirts and masks will be provided. There will also be music and giveaways.
