In person early voting in the Presidential Preference Primary, local elections and Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or TSPLOST, referendum begins Monday, May 18 and will continue until June 5.

According to County Administrator Joey Brown, voting will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Old Historic Courthouse, 100 Main Street and the Liberty County Community Complex, 9397 E Oglethorpe Highway, Midway.
Brown mentioned early voting during the weekly COVID-19 update live-stream via the County’s Facebook page Wednesday morning.
Brown said due to the COVID-19 pandemic, every precaution will be put in place to include following physical distancing rules and constant sanitizing of equipment. He added elections officials may have to limit the amount of people allowed inside the building in order to meet CDC guidelines.
“People may be asked to sign in and return to their vehicles and wait to be contacted as people exit the building,” Brown said. “Nobody will be denied the right to vote,” Brown said.

He added that these precautions will likely cause delay so voters should be prepared to wait.

Brown said election workers will be outfitted in PPEs and voters are asked to bring and wear masks if possible, but no one will be turned away for not having a mask.
