The United States Achievement Academy recently announced that Tia Ayana Gonzalez of Hinesville has been recognized as a student of excellence in science.
Gonzalez, who is a student at Snelson-Golden Middle School, was nominated for this honor by Veronica Johnson, a teacher at the school. She will appear in the United States Achievement Academy’s official yearbook, which is published nationally.
The academy recognizes fewer than 10 percent of all American high-school students.
Gonzalez is the daughter of Carlos and Darlene Gonzales from Hinesville. Her grandmother is Maria Mora of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
