STATESBORO — Outstanding high school seniors recently attended Georgia Southern University’s annual Southern Scholars Showcase at the Statesboro campus. Christopher Smythe, a Bradwell Institute student, was among the participants.
“Georgia Southern University’s Southern Scholars Showcase, a unique by-invitation-only event, attracts outstanding high school seniors from all over the Southeast,” said Susan Davies, GSU director of admissions. “Recently named one of the top best values among all public colleges and universities by Kiplinger, Georgia Southern continues to attract top students who not only value personal attention, but the amenities and benefits of a major research institution.”
To be invited, students must score a minimum of 1300 on the SAT, or 29 on the ACT, and have a strong academic average in high school courses. During the showcase, students are given access to student organizations, academic and student service offerings, and they are interviewed for a variety of Georgia Southern University academic scholarships.
