For the first time in more than 20 years, Bradwell Insitute’s juniors and seniors came together for prom at the school. On April 16, guests were transported into a fairy tale of lights and mystery fitting the masquerade theme.
“It was like we weren’t even at the school,” junior Sadayha Benston said.
The prom committee, together with coordinators Becky McGarrah and Laura Kupres, worked for six months to prepare. They transformed Bradwell into an elegant venue.
Students were wary at first about having the prom at school, but after seeing the work and attention to detail that classmates and faculty members devoted to the prom, they do not want it held anywhere else.
“Everyone worked really hard, and in the end it looked incredible,” prom committee member Erianna DuPrey said.
The students said they were amazed by the setup, and they all created memories they will cherish for a lifetime.
Based on the success of this year’s masquerade ball, Bradwell’s prom committee has started what it hopes will become a new school tradition for years to come.
