The Georgia Department of Education, along with its partners — The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of Georgia, the Georgia Association of Educators and the Georgia Foundation for Public Education — now is accepting applications for the 2015 Georgia Family-Friendly Partnership School Awards.
The annual awards recognize k-12 Title I schools for their commitment to fostering welcoming environments that encourage families to become active partners in improving student achievement and success. The department launched the initiative in 2010 to assist schools, families and communities in working together to boost parent involvement in every school in Georgia. Family engagement helps students earn better grades, and graduate from high school and enroll in post-secondary education at higher rates.
This award recognizes schools that have gone above and beyond to create an environment where families and community members feel comfortable and can help play an important role in supporting student success.
Applications are due by
4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13.
