Head start accepting applications

The Head Start program is accepting applications for the 2010-11 school year. Head Start centers are in Bryan, Liberty, Long, Camden, Evans, Glynn, McIntosh, Wayne and Tattnall counies.
The Head Start program provides individualized and group child activities helping children fulfill their developmental potential. This approach is also well suited to help children with special needs. In addition, the program offers two meals and a snack daily, parent involvement activities, health and dental exams, and speech and language screenings. There is no cost to parents for this program.
Children must be at least 3 years old and not older than 5 on or before Sept. 1. Applications may be completed at a center. The following documents are required:
• birth certificate
• proof of income (tax form, W-2, consecutive pay stubs)
• Social Security card
• Georgia immunization certificate (form 3231
• Physical and dental exam forms
• Medicaid, PeachCare or private insurance card
