Kids, 7-12 years old, are invited to put some fun into their summer with the2008 Junior Ranger Program at Fort Morris.
They can ask their parents to register them for “Unplug and Reboot,” which is what the state historic site’s staff is calling the program to emphasize the state’s GO (get outdoors) Georgia program.
“The Junior Ranger Program is an integral part of Fort Morris’ effort to engage the youth in our region in outdoor activities and nature,” site director Arthur Edgar said. “We are encouraging our junior rangers to have a better understanding and appreciation of nature, their heritage, wildlife and water conservation.”
The staff, along with special guests, will conduct a variety of programs dealing with history and nature, along with games, crafts, prizes and refreshments.
The program operates as morning day camps and will run Tuesday-Saturday, June 17-21, 9 a.m. to noon. Space is limited so register soon by calling 884-5999. Registration costs $15 per child.
Fort Morris is seven miles east of I-95’s Midway exit at Sunbury. Signs point the way.
