Faith Baptist Christian Academy held graduation ceremonies last Friday in Ludowici.
Church Pastor Dr. Terry Sellers welcomed the crowd at 7 p.m. The processional followed and school principal Earl Kicklighter introduced the 2010 graduates.
After the invocation, salutatorian Savannah Lachelle Adams, who graduated with a four-year grade point average of 3.99, addressed the packed church and her fellow classmates.
“This school means more to me than anyone will ever know ... I wouldn’t have wanted to be a part of any other class or family,” Adams said.
She quoted Biblical verse Micah 6:8, which says, “He has showed you oh man what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Next, valedictorian and student of the year Nathaniel Evans Goodson spoke. He earned a 4.0 grade point average.
“We look forward to going out into the world to forge our own way, but we also will hold on to what we have been taught and what we know,” Goodson said.
The student told his classmates they have nothing to fear, but they have a mission to achieve. “If you know Christ as your savior, you have nothing to fear because we have His spirit within us ... We have this spirit in us to share the word to a lost and dying world,” he said.
After Goodson’s address, parents, friends and community members watched a video that showed the graduates’ photos from infancy through their senior years.
Following the video, Sellers and Kicklighter presented diplomas to the new graduates, who then flipped their tassels.
In addition to Adams and Goodson, other honor graduates were Rachel Blanton, Ashley Blocker, Allison Call, Andrew Cammack, Aaliyah Howard, Aaron Power, David Royer and Jerusha Yoder.
The remaining 2010 graduates were Zacharey Adams, Peyton Brown, Jamil Donovan, Lakecia Fowler, Zachary Long, Brittany Swope and Tiffany Swope.
