SAVANNAH -- Gateway to College, a new program sponsored by Savannah Technical College, is a dropout prevention and recovery program focusing on students, ages 16-20, who have either dropped out of high school or are on the verge of dropping out.
Students accepted into the program have the opportunity to complete high school diplomas and simultaneously earn college credit toward a degree, diploma or technical certificate without the cost of tuition.
Gateway to College is taking applications now for fall classes. To be admitted, students need to:
1) Complete an application packet and turn it in to the Gateway to College office, two business days prior to attending a selected information session
2) Attend the information session (reservations are required, but can be made upon application delivery)
3) Attend a two-day evaluation session
4) Interview with staff
5) Attend a financial aid workshop
Information sessions for fall enrollment will be every other Tuesday, May-August; May 20, June 3, June 17, July 8, July 15, Aug. 5 and Aug. 19.
