Smiley Elementary School is among the Long County Schools to participate in the Young Georgia Author contest.

The contest allows for every student to submit a writing piece. The pieces are judged and grade level winners are determined for the Long County School District.

The winners for the 2017-2018 school year include, from left, Grayson Dilone in Mrs. Thornton’s and Mrs. Hattaway’s kindergarten class, Allison Brosky in Mrs. Greenlee’s first grade class, Ebitimi Dorgu in Mrs. Pedrick’s second grade class, and Liberty Winston in Mrs. McCullough’s third grade class.

The students will continue on to compete at district level.
