The community is invited to educate themselves on what to do before during and after a hurricane Saturday.
Last Friday marked the beginning of the 2007 hurricane season and forecasts predict we may face 13-17 named storms with seven to 10 becoming hurricanes that threaten our area.
The Liberty/Hinesville Emergency Management Agency and Lowe’s invite you to the Hurricane Awareness Day Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Lowe’s parking. Booths from agencies such as the Red Cross, LHEMA, Hinesville Fire Department, EMS, HPD, LCSO, DFACS, Mosquito Control and more will provide information to make it through this storm season.
In addition, the Liberty County Department of Health will be there to help people understand the qualifications and how to register your loved one with special needs. Getting registered and placed on the special needs list will ensure a safe evacuation process for those who have medical situation or require extra assistance.
