This holiday season, the Hinesville Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter No. 46 and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA) Unit No. 46 demonstrated their commitment to service beyond the uniform. On Saturday, December 13, members came together to collect and donate children’s toys for families in need throughout Liberty County.
“Giving back during the holidays is part of who we are as veterans,” said DAV Commander Joe L. Feagin. “Many of us understand hardship firsthand, and being able to bring joy to children and families in our community is one of the most meaningful ways we can continue to serve.”
Through this effort, the chapter supported local families and partnered with community organizations such as the Tri-County Protective Agency and Gabriel’s House Children’s Home. These donations helped bring smiles, comfort, and hope to children during the Christmas season.
DAVA Commander Phyllis Reed emphasized the importance of teamwork and compassion.
“Our Auxiliary is honored to stand alongside the DAV in serving our community,” Reed said. “The holidays remind us that small acts of kindness can make a big difference, especially for children who may be facing difficult circumstances.”
This year, SNF provided cups to veteran and family member who attended the 2025 Christmas Party. Each year, SNF supports the DAV’s mission and recognizes the veterans who are part of the company. SNF is a specialty chemical group whose water-soluble polymer products help treat, recycle, and preserve water, saving energy and reducing carbon footprints. SNF operates worldwide, employing more than 8,150 people, including over 2,300 in the United States, while continuing its commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.
Chaplain Dr. Karen E. Bell reflected on the deeper meaning of the outreach.
“This season is about love, hope, and service,” said Dr. Bell. “When our veterans and Auxiliary members come together to give, they are not only sharing gifts, but also sharing encouragement, faith, and the reminder that these families are not forgotten.”
