Hinesville Police Arrests Murder Suspects

According to a media release from the Hinesville Police Department, on Monday, Aug. 9, investigators with the Hinesville Police Department arrested 19-year-old Jeremiah Traylor for the murder of Malik Golden on July 31, at the Harbor Rain Apartments, located at 601 Saunders Ave. 

Golden was 18-years old when he was killed.

 

On Aug. 10, HPD investigators, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal Service, arrested 20-year-old Morieo Austin some 44 miles away in Garden City. 

 

Both defendants are currently being held at the Liberty County Jail and have been taken before a magistrate judge for a first appearance hearing, with their bonds denied.  

 

A warrant for murder has also been issued for the arrest of 18-year-old Naiseam Ward of Savannah. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Naiseam Ward is asked to contact HPD at 912-368-8211 or call their local 911 center.

Ward is considered to be armed and dangerous.  

 

 This is an active investigation, and additional charges are pending.

 

As previously reported in the Courier Golden died from injuries he sustained during a shooting incident which occurred shortly before 7 p.m. July 31,

 

According to Hinesville Police Department Detective, Kyle Larimore, the Golden was shot outside an apartment in the Y building of the Harbor Rain apartment complex located on the 600 block of Saunders Ave.  According to Hinesville Police Chief Lloyd Slater Golden was not a resident of the apartment complex.
Golden was transported by a privately owned vehicle to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville and later transported by ambulance to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.

Slater said HPD was notified around midnight that Golden had died from his wounds.
