Hinesville Police Department Reports 

Theft of services: An employee at OD Crab House reported that four patrons left the restaurant without paying for their meal. The employee said the bill was $146 and the two men and two women only left $9 on the table. The employee reported that each patron got up one by one to exit the restaurant. The last patron told the server their money for the food and tip was on the table. The restaurant’s surveillance camera captured the four getting into a Chevy Camaro and turning east on Highway 84.

Domestic problem: A man who had just been released from jail, reported he went to his home on Davila Street so he could gather his belongings. He said when he entered the home his, baby’s momma, told him to leave the house. He reported while he gathered his belongings the child’s momma pointed a gun at him. He walked out of the house and waited for police to arrive. The woman said the man knocked on the door but entered the house without permission. She said the man was attempting to stay at her home unwelcomed. She asked the man to leave and handed him his bags with his belongings. She said she never pointed a gun at the man but threatened to get the gun if he didn’t leave because she was pregnant. She said she wouldn’t have shot the man because her kids were in the house. She requested the man be served with a trespass notice. Theft by taking A woman reported her Smith and Wesson handgun stolen from her Liberty Club Apartment Unit. The woman said she kept the gun in her top bedside dresser but it was no longer there. She said she recalls last seeing it in April and looked for the gun because she planned to go the range on Nov. 8, 2021. She said the gun was still in its original box and the only other people who had access to her bedroom was the maintenance team from the apartment complex.

Criminal trespass: Officials at Hinesville United Methodist Church reported their fence was damaged. The complainant reported two juvenile males were throwing rocks at the fence which caused the damage. Police verified the damage to the fence but were unable to find the two juveniles.

Entering auto / lost property / found contraband: It was a busy day at the Hinesville Econo Lodge on Nov. 14. First a man reported someone had stolen his handgun which was inside his friend’s car. He said the following morning the gun was gone. The car owner said the doors of her car were still locked this morning and none of her items were missing. The manager of the hotel said the surveillance cameras were pointed in the vicinity of where the car was parked. While working on this incident the officer was approached by a hotel patron who asked for a police report because he lost his car keys somewhere on the property. At this same hotel another officer had responded to a call of found contraband where an employee found 176 small blue pills in a trash bag, while changing the room’s bed linens.
