LCSS hosts first Freshman Focus event
Liberty County School System

The Liberty County School System will be presenting the first annual Freshman Focus in mid-July 2019. The event is for students transitioning to ninth grade and their parents, and is meant to provide information to help both parties adjust to high school.

In an attempt to fit in with parents’ schedules, LCSS will be holding four sessions at the Liberty County Board of Education located at 200 Bradwell Street in Hinesville. The sessions are:

Wednesday, July 17        Session 1: 9-11 a.m.        or            Session 2: 3-5 p.m.

Thursday, July 18              Session 1: 1-3 p.m.          or            Session 2: 5-7 p.m.

LCSS highly encourages parents to attend one of the sessions to help their children with the middle to high school transition. Each session will cover the following:

  •          Academic Expectations
  •          Dual Enrollment
  •          Student Attendance and Georgia Compulsory Law
  •          Parent Portal Training
  •          2019-2020 LCSS Student Information and the Code of Conduct
  •          Extracurricular Activity Participation

Freshman Focus sessions can be signed up for at http://www.liberty.k12.ga.us/freshmanfocus2019. Seating is limited and parents interested in attending can sign up no later than Thursday, July 11. The LCSS stress that this session is only for parents and their students who will go on to the ninth grade starting this fall. These sessions are also separate from school hosted open houses.
