(Hinesville, GA)— The Liberty County High School JROTC Leadership Team, composed of C/LTC Adriana Frantz (Team Captain), C/CPT Timothy Vancosky, C/1LT Andrew Norton, and C/SSG Jacob Clement recently traveled to Washington, DC to compete in the 2021 U.S. Army JROTC Leadership Bowl Championship.

Five thousand teams across the United States began the qualifying process and the LCHS team was one of only 40 teams who met the requirements to compete in the National Academic Bowl Championship. The cadets were tested on their knowledge of current events, leadership values, and leadership skills. Out of the 40 teams who were selected to compete, the LCHS team received 11th place.

The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB) is a nationally recognized competition created exclusively for JROTC students. By participating, cadets learn the values of citizenship, academic competition, and college opportunity. The cadets were also able to tour Washington, DC where they saw the many memorials and were able to visit Arlington Cemetery. C/LTC. Frantz was even selected to participate in the laying of the wreath ceremony.
