Liberty and Long counties honored their STAR students this week at separate meetings.
Liberty's were honored at a Chamber of Commerce banquet Thursday sponsored by Georgia Power and CenturyLink at Bethesda Church. Students honored in the local leg of the statewide program were Zachary Glasco at Liberty County High, Chistopher Smythe at Bradwell and Patrick Steele at First Presbyterian Christian Academy. The teacher they chose to honor were Brian Nixon, Susan Nobles and Kathryn Walden, respectively.

Long County Chamber of Commerce honored Jonathan Groover as that county's STAR student at a meeting Tuesday. He chose Suzette Williamson, who taught him in first grade.
