Parker’s convenience store recently donated $20,000 to the Liberty County School System as part of the company’s Fueling the Community program.

Liberty County School System Superintendent of Schools Dr. Franklin Perry, along with Pre-K students, accepted the donation on behalf of area teachers and students at a check presentation at the Liberty County Pre-K Center on October 16.

The Parker’s Fueling the Community charitable initiative donates a percentage of gas sold at all Parker’s and Parker’s Kitchen locations on the first Wednesday of each month to area schools.

The company is donating $380,000 to public and private schools in Georgia and South Carolina this fall and has given more than $2 million to area schools since the inception of the Fueling the Community program in 2011.

“At Parker’s Kitchen, we know that education has the power to transform communities by increasing literacy rates, reducing crime and creating future leaders,” said Parker’s Kitchen Community Outreach Manager Olivia Parker. “Through our Fueling the Community program, we’re deeply honored to support the hard-working teachers and students in Liberty County.”

“We thank Parker’s for their generous donation from their Fueling the Community program,” said Dr. Perry. “The money will be put to good use as we continue to implement our mission to provide all students an education which promotes excellence, good citizenship, and a love of learning.”
