In an effort to assist health care workers fighting in the front lines of the Coronavirus pandemic, two local Girl Scouts from Sycamore Service Area, Troop 30002, donated over 200 boxes of cookies to Diversity Health Center in Hinesville July 9.

Ena Wilson, the Girl Scout Service Area Manager who oversees the troops in Liberty and Long County said Cadette Girl Scouts Paris Wilson and Ava Buerger offered the donation to the clinic workers that are helping to test and care for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“They wanted to do something nice for the local medical personnel who have been working hard throughout the Covid pandemic,” Wilson said.

Wilson added that the girls saw the line of cars wrapped around the Diversity Health Center and saw the nurses outside in the heat doing testing. “That is when they decided that is where the cookies they got donated over cookie season should go,” she said.

"They're also the ones feeling it every day," the girls said.
