Two men were killed and another was wounded in a shooting Sunday night in Long County’s Sand Hills community.
Long County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Robert Berry said the incident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. The LCSO called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist with the investigation, and authorities were on the scene at Jo Jo Drive and Manuel Lane most of the day Monday.
GBI agent Stacey Carson said Pedro Hernandez, 27, was found dead at a residence on Jo Jo Drive, and Cleto Chihuahua, 23, was found dead at a residence on Manuel Lane. Authorities believe Chihuahua was driven after he was shot to Manuel Lane by either a friend or a family member.
Luis Humberto Devora Carillo, 27, also was shot and airlifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. On Monday a MHUMC spokesperson said Carillo was in stable condition.
Authorities also are looking for two men who they believe may have witnessed the shooting. They are Manuel Chihuahua, 19, and Juan Hernandez, whose age is unknown.
Anyone with information about the shooting or Chihuahua’s and Hernandez’s whereabouts should call the LCSO at 545-2118.
The Georgia State Patrol, the Ludowici/Long County Fire Department and a Long County EMS unit also responded to the incident.
