Christmas parade winners announced

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and the Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau are pleased to announce the first and second place winners for best float in three categories from the 21stAnnual Illuminated Christmas Parade.

 Parade floats were judged based on the organization status as non-profit (Mayor’s Award), business (Chamber Award) or school entity (Superintendent Award). The Hispanic Heritage Club won 1stplace Mayor’s Award and the Hinesville Area Board of Realtors won 2ndplace. The Chamber Award was presented to Ameris Bank with 1stplace and Coastal Solar with 2nd place. First Presbyterian Christian Academy Board of Directors won 1stplace Superintendent Award and 2ndplace was awarded to First Presbyterian Christian Academy Junior Cheerleaders.

 A new award this year was People’s Choice. This award was voted on by all 30+ volunteers who came out in support of the parade. This year’s People’s Choice award was given to Rock Chicks Color Bar.

“Congratulations to the winners who worked so hard on these beautiful floats and as always thank you to the generous sponsors for their support,” said Leah Poole, CEO of the Liberty Chamber/CVB. This year’s sponsors included: the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority, Liberty Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Wal-Mart Super Center and McDonalds.

The parade has been held in Hinesville for the past 21 years and showcases businesses, groups and organizations from all over the county and surrounding areas. This event has previously attracted over 15,000 spectators, is live streamed on the Coastal Courier's Facebook page and by WTOC, which will televised on Christmas Day.
