Detour in Walthourville this weekend

At the request of CSX Railroad, the Georgia DOT is planning a three-day road closure in conjunction with railroad crossing improvements on Highway 119 in Walthourville.

The road is also called State Route 119.

Traffic will be detoured beginning 9 a.m. Friday and continuing through 5 p.m. Feb. 12.

Georgia DOT maintenance crews will put up the road closed and detour signs. The road will reopen early if the work is completed ahead of schedule or could possibly be closed longer if the weather is bad.

Motorists will be able to access businesses, schools, and residences in the area up to work zone.

The detour routes are:

Southbound along SR 119:

Traffic will detour 1.6 miles east on US 84 and turn right onto Dunlevie Road. Traffic will travel 2 miles south on Dunlevie to SR 119 where detour ends.

Northbound along SR 119:

Traffic will detour 2 miles north on Dunlevie Road and turn left onto US 84. Traffic will travel 1.6 miles west on US 84 to SR 119 where detour ends.
