Hinesville’s Downtown Farmers Market reopens for the season at 4 p.m. Thursday at Bradwell Park and Commerce Street.

The opening day is expected to feature about 15 vendors. Items planned for purchase includes produce, grass-fed beef, organic meats, fresh eggs, bread, candies, pasta, honey, dog treats and skin-care products. Shoppers will receive free canvas totes while supplies last. This year’s tote has been provided by season sponsor, Liberty County Farm Bureau.

A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for 5 p.m. Puerto Rican band Grupo Son Del Coqui  will perform in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.

The regular season will feature several newcomers, including Flat Land Farms, Farnsworth Family Farm, Foreue Skin Care and the return of many veteran vendors. Vendor applications will be accepted throughout the season. The market runs through October. For more information, go to www.facebook.com/hinesvillefarmersmarket.
