A pregnant soldier was hospitalized with stab wounds after being asked to break up a fight between a teenager and her roommate.

Jenette Hall, 23, a soldier assigned to Fort Stewart, was recovering Thursday from multiple stab wounds. She was listed in stable condition Wednesday, according to Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Det. Chuck Woodall.

Cierra Martin, 19, is being held in the Liberty County Jail on one count of aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing Hall.

LCSO Det. Dennis Davis said investigators were called about 8 p.m. to a residence in the 100 block of Halstead Road in Gum Branch. Deputy Shane Brazier responded and learned from Martin’s roommate that she and Martin were arguing. The roommate, who is in the same unit as Hall, called Hall for help. After she arrived, Hall, who is reportedly four months pregnant, tried to break up the fight, but struck Martin. Martin grabbed a box cutter and cut Hall on her neck, chest, stomach and back.

The deputy reportedly saw Martin in some nearby woods, trying to run, but he chased her down.

Hall was first taken to Winn Army Community Hospital on Fort Stewart and then flown to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.

Martin’s bond was set at $15,000.
