A Long County girl went missing in the ocean off St. Simons Island Saturday, according to Glynn-Brunswick Emergency Management Agency Capt. Jay Wiggens.
According to information provided by The Brunswick News, King was with her family swimming at the beach when a wave reportedly took the 14-year-old under the water.
Rescue teams have been searching for the teen since Saturday, but have not been able to locate her. According to Georgia Department of Natural Resources Capt. Doug Lewis, the search was halted this afternoon due to bad weather. Once it clears, the efforts will start back up, he said.
A full story on this case will be in the Wednesday Coastal Courier.
