Another 3rd ID soldier killed

The Department of Defense confirmed the death of a 3rd Infantry Division soldier Wednesday evening.
Sgt. William J. Beardsley, 25, of Coon Rapids, Minn., died Feb. 26 in Diwaniyah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.  
Beardsley was assigned to the 3rd ID's 260th Quartermaster Battalion, 3rd Sustainment Troop Brigade.
Fort Stewart Public Affairs spokespersons would not comment stating only that a statement would be released later.

Rahn completes basic training

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Cameron C. Rahn graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Rahn is the son of Angel Smith of Midway and a 2017 graduate of Liberty County High School in Midway.
