Sgt. Maj. Golden Giddings, an Alexandria, Va. native, speaks just before she promoted her son, Staff Sgt. Cleophus Giddings Jr., at Q-West in Iraq.
“Never in my wildest dream had I ever consider promoting my son anywhere in this lifetime,” Giddings said.
Giddings Jr., who serves with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Sustainment Battalion, is a Hinesville native.
