Single soldiers can now check out Marne Point on Fort Stewart, the latest housing alternative on post. The housing project came from a partnership between the Army and Balfour Beatty Communities.
The complex consists of 334 one- and two-bedroom, garden-style apartments. So far, 186 apartments are occupied.
Each apartment includes a washer and dryer and a private entrance. The complex offers residents use of a community center, pool, basketball court and running trails.
Balfour Beatty officials said rent for an apartment is equal to the basic allowance for housing without dependents rate for a level E-6 soldier. Rent includes basic cable, Internet service and $10,000 in renter’s insurance, according to the developer.
The housing development is primarily aimed at single service members with the ranks of staff sergeant through captain.
