The non-profit organization Friends of Liberty and Fort Stewart, announces the appointment of Paul M. Andreshak.
The recently retired deputy garrison commander at Fort Stewart was brought in as executive director.
“There is no better Army installation, as evidenced by Fort Stewart/HAAF being the only three time winner of the Army Community of Excellence Award” Andreshak said. “I am proud to be able to continue serving the soldiers, families and civilians, working as a liaison to the countless organizations providing services and support from outside the gate.”
The stated mission of Friends of Liberty and Fort Stewart is to enhance the overall economic value of Fort Stewart and the surrounding communities through a progressive regional relationship amongst its partners. Additionally, FOLandFS is dedicated to supporting installation needs and priorities with the appropriate governmental agencies at local, state and federal levels.
“Investment in the future of Coastal Georgia, including Fort Stewart and HAAF, is a task that should be undertaken by all types of organizations, public or private,” said James M. Floyd Jr., president of FOLandFS. “Our economic future is brighter because of the 3rd ID returning from deployment, realignment and increases of several of the current units, as well as the addition of a brigade combat team in 2010.”
Friends of Liberty and Fort Stewart is poised to help coordinate the efforts of interested parties in sustaining the region and the largest economic force in the area. More information can be obtained by phone at 912-408-6225 or e-mail at ExecutiveDirector@FOLandFS.com.
