Air Force Airman Juan M. Aponte has  graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.
Aponte is the son of Tonya Troup of Hinesville.
He is a 2011 graduate of Liberty County High School.

Carter promoted to private first class
New York Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Patrick A. Murphy recently announced the promotion of New York Army National Guard member Anthony Carter, of Hinesville, to the rank of private first class.
Carter serves with the Company B, 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion.

De La Torre graduates from basic training
Army National Guard Pfc. Christopher H. De La Torre has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.
De La Torre is the son of Joseph and Myra De La Torre of Hinesville.
He is a 2012 graduate of Bradwell Institute.
