A groundbreaking ceremony will be part of this year’s Veterans Salute.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Bryant Commons in Hinesville. Admission and parking are free, but partial proceeds from the sale of food, drinks, raffle tickets and other activities will benefit the creation of a Veterans Memorial Walk.

Veterans Salute will include live entertainment, food and drink booths, craft vendors, corn-hole tournaments, a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, parachute landings and a motorcycle show with prizes. In addition, at 11 a.m. on the day of the event, officials plan to break ground on the long-anticipated Veterans Memorial Walk, which is slated to be unveiled and dedicated on Veterans Day 2016.  

Booth spaces are still available, according to vendor coordinator Melinda Schneider. The motorcycle show, a new addition to the lineup this year, will award prizes in nine categories. On-site registration is $20, and all proceeds benefit the Veterans Memorial Walk.
