Murder suspect caught in Hinesville

A murder suspect caught in Hinesville on March 2. According to Liberty County Sheriff, Will Bowman, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office received a request for assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in locating a murder suspect identified as Christopher Anthony Guilfo Jr. 


Guilfo had been indicted by a Grand Jury in Dooly County, Georgia for murder charges stemming from an incident in 2017. Guilfo was allegedly involved in a shooting involving two street gangs, the Bloods, and the Gangster Disciples.


Authorities learned Guilfo was residing at a residence in the 600 block of Tanglewood Drive in Hinesville. A search warrant was executed at the home in search of Guilfo Jr. based on the information provided by GBI.


According to Bowman at approximately 5 p.m. the Liberty County Sheriff`s Office Special Reaction Team (SRT) in conjunction with the Hinesville Police Department executed the search warrant at the home.


Guilfo was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed and was contacted by a family member who arranged his surrender to authorities upon his arrival.


Guilfo was transported to the Liberty County Jail for processing.
