Many interested bidders flocked to the steps of the Liberty County Courthouse Tuesday in the hopes of buying various properties that were on the verge of repossession by the tax commissioner’s office. To the crowd’s dismay, the majority of the delinquent property owners managed to pay their backed taxes, and auctioneer Ric Baxter sold only one piece of property for $13,000. The next bidding will take place on Sept, 4 at the same location.
