A teen who has been identified as a Long County High School student, Nahiem Henderson, was shot and killed in a Hinesville Mobile home park Wednesday afternoon.
According to Hinesville Police Chief of Detectives, Tracey Howard, the suspect, Tye’rique Hardy 18 of Ludowici was arrested and charged with murder Thursday evening.
Howard reported that Henderson was discovered by officers from the Hinesville police department lying outside one of the trailers in Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park around 6:30 p.m. suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency medical personnel attempted to revive the teen who was later pronounced dead.
Howard said that Henderson may have resided in the mobile home park or was visiting family members when the shooting occurred. According to Howard the shooting may have been the result of an earlier confrontation that Henderson had with another person. When Henderson arrived at the home he was struck in the head by gunfire.
Howard said more arrests are possible. Howard is asking for the public’s help on information concerning the shooting. Call 368-8211
