Hello, everyone. Tight Line Jr. here, and it looks like I made the front page of the Courier this week.

Hopefully some of you will try out some of my shrimp recipes. They are delicious.

I do have a few reports out of Yellow Bluff Marina.

Billy Kirk and his bride landed 18 trout this week. Buddy Crauley was out fishing with David Rogers netting 20 trout. Roger Scofield and his wife had five nice spottail and six trout. Shawn Branson was fishing with Jake Horton and landed 15 nice trout deckside. Those fellows always catch fish.

Neal Howard and party reeled in 12 nice spottails. I still call them spottail instead of red fish because that’s what Ol’ Tight Line always called them.

I always like to hear about young people fishing. Here is a story of three such youngsters. Hannah, Josh and Bryce Giza went fishing with their dad, Stephen, at a freshwater lake in Statesboro. They caught 50-plus pan fish, four catfish and 11 largemouth bass in four hours. You know that had to be a fun family outing.

Well friends, as for bait, Rayburn at Yellow Bluff has live shrimp and minnows. Halfmoon has live shrimp and Sunbury Crab Company has live shrimp and minnows. Big Rudy at the Sunbury Country Store has frozen shrimp, frozen squid and finger mullet.

So remember what Ol’ Tight Line always said: Get out there and go fishing. And if you do, always keep a tight line. I say hit the docks, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down. Until next time, do me a favor — get out there and wet a hook.

Your Buddy,

Tight Line Jr.
