Trash fish tourney helps cancer patients

Fishing will be along the Altamaha River Friday and Saturday.

This weekend will be the Altamaha River Trash Fish Tournament starting at 4 p.m. Friday and ending at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Mudfish and gar will be the only fish eligible for the tournament, and weigh-ins will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday.

The first place winner will receive $200, second place $150 and third place $100.

There will be an entry fee of $40 for a two man team, $20 per person, and kids 15 and under are free with a paying adult.

The tournament is a benefit for cancer patients Wendy Dasher and Wendy Fuller.
