Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day at Mighty Eighth

(Pooler, GA) The annual Navy League Pearl Harbor Day Remembrance ceremony will take place at the National Museum of the mighty Eighth Air Force on Sunday, December 5th at 2:00 p.m. This ceremony pays tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and all those who selflessly served our nation at home and abroad during World War II. There will be readings, music and a tribute to Pearl Harbor survivors and World War II veterans. There will also be a Two-Bell Ceremony and presentation of a Flower Wreath.

 

The keynote speaker is Commander O.C. Fowler, United States Navy Retired. Commander Fowler is a director and past president of the Savannah Navy League. This fall he was named Chatham County Veteran of the Year and inducted into the Georgia Military Veterans Hall of Fame 2021.

 

There is no charge and reservations are not required.

 

 

About the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force

The Museum educates visitors about the character, courage, valor, and patriotism of the brave individuals who fought in the Eighth Air Force, the largest air armada in history. The Museum uses films, exhibits, artifacts, and archival materials to tell the stories of individuals who served in the Eighth Air Force. Their sacrifices made victory in World War II possible.

Museum highlights include a fully-restored B-17 "Flying Fortress" and the multimedia "Mission Experience," an immersive simulated bombing mission in a special theater utilizing actual combat footage.
