A pedestrian was killed Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle, according to authorities.
According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper John Snipe, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 17 and the merge leading to Highway 196.
The driver of the vehicle stopped several feet from where the man was struck and reported he had hit someone.
Responding deputies searched the area and discovered the man deceased on the roadway where Highway 17 merges onto Highway 196.
Snipe said the accident is under investigation.
