Polly Martin now officially is sheriff

Polly E. Martin was officially sworn into office Friday morning at the Liberty County Courthouse as the first female sheriff to serve the county.
Martin was appointed to the position June 1 by Liberty County Probate Judge Nancy Aspinwall, two days after former Sheriff J. Don Martin, Polly Martin’s husband, was laid to rest. For the complete story, pick up a copy of Sunday's Coastal Courier.
