A man who allegedly shot another man March 9 in Long County is still on the loose, according to the Long County Sheriff’s Office.
Edward Holmes, 29, who reportedly shot a man in the parking lot of B’s Corner Store/Snack Shack in Walthourville, is still at large, LCSD Det. R. Hughes said.
According to witnesses, the detective said, Holmes and a second man had been fighting. The detective said Holmes left the parking area and retrieved a gun. Witnesses said Holmes returned a few minutes later with a pistol and fired two shots, striking the victim once in his right leg. Witnesses said Holmes then turned around and walked away.
Hughes said the victim’s identity has not been disclosed to ensure his safety, but as of Thursday, he was in the hospital and in good condition.
The detective said the alleged shooter, who previously was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and is considered by law enforcement to be dangerous, is also known as “E.D.,” “E.W.” and “Eddie.”
“This guy is a bad guy and has a history of violence. If anyone knows where he is or anything about where he might be, they need to contact us as soon as possible,” Hughes said.
