A bicyclist was sideswiped by a tractor trailer shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday in the 600 block of West Oglethorpe Highway in front of the GeoVista Credit Union.

According to Hinesville Police Officer Pat Cochran, the bicyclist was on his way to work at Walmart. Cochran said the man, whose identity has not been released, was able to call his wife who reported the accident to 911. The man was taken to Memorial Health University Medical in Savannah by ambulance. His condition was not reported.

The semi driver, who also has not been identified, did stop and waited for authorities at the Lowes parking lot.
